Us

We are the Erskine family.

We live in the hills of Kentucky.

We love these classic programs. Our kids, now grown, grew up listening to them. They can still quote some of these, line for line. These audios are the warp and woof of our homeschool experience.

We hope you’ll enjoy them too!

    Dear Erskines,

Thanks as always for all you do. I’m sure my kids and I will love the radio shows.

From your “US” button… Warp and woof! I had to look that one up. Although I understood what you meant from the context (and I think I’ve heard the phrase before), I had to investigate. Thanks for making us think. Fascinating!

    Blessings,

How can I download your shows into iTunes?

I really enjoy your programs. I missed you while you were down. I wanted to share with you how I ude your programs. We have a cabin in the Sierras that does not have electricity. At night when we are winding down for the night. We turn on our lap top and listen to the programs. I want to thank you so much for preserving this lost form of communication. It helps my children use their imagniation and listen skills.

Thank you again for all of the time you have put into this website.

Everytime i try to save these files…it will not save…..it lets me listen to them but it will not save….love these books but very aggrivated with not being able to save

    • Kathleen says:

Have you been clicking on the right or left mouse button? If you click on the right hand mouse button, a menu should pop up. Click on the Save File As line and you should be able to save the file to play later.

Just wanted to drop a note of thanks for your wonderful programs. I have loved old time radio since I was a teenager. What a treat! Thanks especially for posting some of the “reruns.” I didn’t have any of them yet. Your programs keep me motivated to exercise and work in the yard. I think it’s a little ironic that I listen to 60-year-old radio shows on a modern MP3 player. God bless you.

    Dear Erskines,
I just wanted to thank you for the blessing of these programs and to encourage you not to be discouraged. I think it is fantastic that you are repeating some of the older programs for those that may not have seen or heard them. I also think that it is good for us to learn patience in this instant gratification era. Please take heart that you are doing a good job and blessing a younger generation with content they may not have seen or heard while at the same time reminding an older generation of good memories.
    God bless
    Carol Jo

I have enjoyed being a member or Homeschool RadioShows for over a year now. You offer such a wonderful selection and the repeats are wonderful as well. I missed many of them the first time around so having a second chance on them is great! Thanks for all of you hard work so that we may enjoy this form of entertainment and educational tool!

  • Thank you for an awesome product!!

    And, I love the reruns!!!

I lost all my data and freebie downloads due to a horrible virus that came from a friendly e-mail and I was heartbroken over two years work of making sure I had my downloads every week…

The reruns have been like a family reunion for my family!!!

    Thank you, thank you!!!!

    Hi Erskine Family,

Thanks so much for these awesome Radio Programs. We have been on your email list for over a year. In a day when it’s hard to find material that is “safe” to offer our children, we really appreciate your radio shows. How you can offer them at such resonable prices and so often free is amazing to me. Have a wonderful day and may the Lord bless you… We have often been wondering lately what your “studio” looks like… Are you in a sleepy hollow? Do you live a big house? How did you come up with the idea of Homeschool radio shows? I am sure you have told us before, but we missed it… Many blessings to you!

  • Deana Watson says:

Don’t worry about the negative comments. People always want more than they should–especially when it’s free! I’ve always loved the audios that you have given us and the ones I’ve bought from you as well.
As a child I would listen (with my transistor radio, can you believe it?) to a show that the word ‘macabre’ was in the title. Any idea what show Ilistened to?

  • Joy Clancy says:

We are just new to your fabulous resources. Thank you so much! We are really enjoying these treasures.

  • Cathy says:

Thank you for this! We are trying to avoid the TV and having a story to listen to is ideal. I don’t always have time to listen to stories myself first, so it would really help if there were a recommended age-range in the summary. As I have a little one, I prefer to keep things simple and age-appropriate.

My husband and I live across the way…in Missouri. :-) We just wanted to drop a note to tell you how much we appreciate all that you do! Keep up the good work. Our kiddos have special needs and the audio books have been great for them. I have found a few coloring pages here and there that go along with the stories…it helps them to keep their hands busy and their tooshies still. :-) Again, thank you very much! Many blessings!

Sorry for leaving this in the comments section, but I didn’t see a way to email you. I was wondering if you leave all the resources on the website, or if you’ll be removing some after a period of time like you did on the old site. Thanks so much for you help.

  • The Erskines says:

    Deanna,

We will be deleting older programs as we go along. Get them while you can.

  • Cristal says:

I am so excited to find you. I bought your Christmas Special CD years ago and we love love loved listening to all the stories. We have moved overseas (Hong Kong), and somehow the CD didn’t make the move. I look frwd to enjoying your program with our family!
    Blessings,

I really enjoy your programs. Thank you for doing this. Since you have restarted this fall you have started to use a new format for your downloads. I am not able to sync the new format to my I pod. Do you offer just the mp3′s as you did before or is it just the mpeg stream and if so how can I convert them so we can take them on trips and listen to them on the ipod?
    thanks

  • Kathleen says:

Thanks for the fun old time radio shows. We really enjoy them here in MN

  • Maria Francescon says:

Thanks so very much for all the work you have done in gathering this treasury in one place. Must have taken you years to pull all of these together. We are an American family living abroad trying to make sure our kids still manage to get exposed to some Americana as they grow up. This is an exceptional collection that brings so much together in one format making it easy to listen to a broad variety of history, stories and ideas on a regular basis. Many thanks from your four fans here in Holland.

I found you looking for resources for a production of A Christmas Carol. Do you still have the version of a Western Christmas Carol done by the Six Shooter? Our homeschool Creative and Performing Arts Club is writing and performing a western version. I thought it would be fun for us to listen to this one if still available.

  • Christine says:

we have been listening to your free downloads for several years now. My children never tire of them, and listen over and over again. Thanks!

  • K Leonard says:

Thank you so much for making all of these resources available!  We supplement our homeschool curriculum with them, and all of our children are great listeners, with extensive vocabularies, active imaginations and appreciation for great stories.
